This design is based on the earlier successes of the CC-7700 series, although the CC-9600
frigate is more compact and more heavily armed. The CC-9600 is designed for direct combat,
with upgraded weaponry and shielding, and enough cargo and passenger space to transport two
full regiments of troops. It is also very fast for its size, both in sublight and
hyperdrive, making for a formidable warship in its class. It has a 31 x 7.4 m shuttle
hangar. Streamlined for atmospheric operation, it has retractable manoeuvering fins which
improves stabilization as it lands and deploys troops. This ship is commonly used by the
rebels.
