Minestra-class Corvette | |

Better known as the Imperial Light Customs Corvette, this ship was designed for the Imperial
Customs Office and not the Imperial Starfleet. It was used extensively for enforcing the law
in the Rim, every system with a branch office generallly had at least one of these ships and
important ones several. Aptly armed and blindingly fast at sublight, it makes an ideal vessel
to hunt pirates and other lightly armed insurgents. Additionally, it has long range
turbolasers (75 SU). The Rodian Home Fleet and several other smaller local forces bought them
for defence. Unfortunately, a few of these vessels have also found their way to said pirates,
who often make an effort to capture them. The illegal shipbuilding market "shadowports" also
manufacture pirate copies of the Minestra-class. The two forward mandibles on the hull
functions as loading and docking facilities, similar to those found on the YR-series light
freighters from the Corellian Engineering Corporation. This class was provincially named after the first known ship of the type. |
