Following the Battle of Endor, the remnant fleets of the Empire began raiding New Republic
convoys for supplies. It soon became as much of a problem to New Republic shipping as the
Rebel Alliance had been to the Empire. One of the most effective ships used by Imperial
forces in this period is the Vibre Class Assault Cruiser, designed specifically for
privateering and introduced shortly before Mon Mothma's resignation as Chief of State. It
is plated with matte-black armour with a layer of stealth coating bonded to it. The shape of
the ship is dictated by its mission profile. The Vibre typically uses its stealth equipment
to sneak within strike range of larger Rebel capital ships, disables it with ion cannons,
latch onto the hull and uses cutting lasers to open it. A squadron of Zero-G spacetroopers
then enters the larger ship to take control of it.
